Can I just say I am so THANKFUL that a show like this exists?
I mean OH MY GOD.
I just wanna thank Netflix, Aziz Ansari, The Internet, the Admin staff at Netflix, and ANYONE whose contributed to this awesome ass show.
What's it about?
Master of None is about Dev (Ansari) an actor in his 30's and his navigation through life. The show touches on familial relationships, love/dating and race. He also has a group of diverse and awesome friends who are wonderfully developed characters.
In the "Nashville" episode (which I loved) there were a few jokes that teetered on the fat shaming edge. I mean it was almost there but all in all I didn't get to a complete OUCH moment. I feel like the show really thrives becayse the characters are incredibly diverse. I only wish that we could get a more in depth look at the other character's lives. I guess I can wait for season 2!!
Should I watch it?
HELLS YES. The soundtrack is awesome and the stories are also awesome. It's also a very smart show. I've been surprised at how much I've reflected on my own life and identity in watching this show. I feel like despite giving you laughs, the show will give you something to think about in relation to how you live your own life.
Master of None is currently streaming on Netflix.
